A Letter from the Zine Editor
Hi, Endeavor -
Welcome to the Endeavor High Zine! I'm alexafleur, a senior here at Endeavor, and I'm going to be the student editor for the zine—check out my profile to find out more. For everyone whose lives were touched by Amanda, you know how she encouraged self-expression—well, here is the place for you to say whatever you want to say. This means reviews or editorials or doodles or just stream-of-consciousness musings. You guys send things in, share with each other, and then I'm going to edit them and put together the best stuff for the quarterly issues.
This month’s mini-theme is Rebels and Iconoclasts. These are the people who go against the grain, looking at the world with critical eyes, questioning it, tearing it apart and building it up in. There are rebels like Abraham Lincoln, who changed the course of American history, and there are rebels like Lady GaGa, who has probably just changed the way pants are valued in our society.
Who are the rebels in your life? Write short stories about the power of a student to change a school. Make collages of your favorite pop-culture rebels—Madonna or Kanye? Imagine a day in the life of your favorite historical radicals—what would Joan of Arc have for breakfast? What would be on Sacagawea’s iPod?
Get creative, think hard, get to work!
