When she arrived Fringe was rolling in his paddock. This wasn’t unusual, but when she saw the cut on his side, she gasped.

Opening the gate, Zoe entered the Paddock and walked over to her horse. She stroked his mane as she looked at his cut.

The boy was seven - quite a few years younger than Zoe. He loved animals, but didn’t know much about horses.
“What happened to the horsie?” he asked Zoe.

“I think he rolled on a rock.” She stood up and brushed off her jeans.
