It’s a book I’m currently working, that strangely and sorely reminds of the story of Mulan, but being set in a different era and and dealing with a bit more mature topics to the plot.

So I thought that I could share this with you guys so I can hear (read) your opinions!

Also I need a bit of help with the names; I want them to be perfect, but I tend to over do them and   I honestly don’t want that, cuz it gets ridiculous.
    I need 6 names for:

    -The smart guy
-The handsome guy whose terribly good with guns
-The random guy (personality pending) (that’s a inside joke)
    -The camouflage guy
    -The mafia lord
    -The bad harassing guy

    Any ideas?

Hmmm… I think that Wouldn’t be believable on the setting of the storry. Im looking for more common sounding names, maybe with a bit of backstory….

Hey, actually one of the main characters’ name is Nicolas! Without the H, because I don’t like how it looks with the H.

It actually has quiet a freakin’ lot to do with the story’s plot, but in such a little undertone no one would notices.

All the names I have so far do.  (three (lame) )

Odette is a girl trapped in a body that doesn’t belong to her. (swan lake) She seeks freedom in love, but finds it in death. Save my char is going to find it in love… damn that sounds corny…
(Unless she kills herself like some of my character’s tend to do…)

Oliver, asides from being an ‘O’ name that has seven letters, is the name the lady pirate Mary Read used to pass as a boy through her life. Eventually, Mary, ended up serving for the Dutch Army and ended up falling in love with yes, her Captain, Nicklaus.

A lot of things that happen to them as a couple go according to Mary Read’s time in the Army.

Of course historically they didn’t have a pretty ending… But I have high hopes my characters will. Or at least the story stops are the point when things are nice.

But I was looking for that sort of names that don’t have a clear and obvious relationship to the characters but still a little something special.

Most of the time I overdo this little something… And it’s a bother when most names sound like they belong to another era and honestly what are the chances of meeting someone with that name nowadays.

Like Odette. Damn I regret that name, but she’s too deep into it I can’t change it now. Things just wouldn’t make sense. You know what I mean?
