One day, we were discussing lessons in History,
One fourth of the class was totally digging the discussion about the government while the rest were half sleeping and half sitting.
Amanda was on the second row.
I couldn’t really tell how she was reacting to the lesson, because she was just sitting there…smiling.
She really intrigued me, because why would anyone smile in the middle of a discussion in history at eight o’clock in the morning? I mean, no one was even talking (except for our History teacher). In fact, Everywhere you look, you’ll either see students blinking they’re sleepy eyes or students really engrossed on the discussion.
Amanda pounced on her notebook which made a loud thump. Everybody almost jumped because of the sudden sound that shocked them. She was covering her notebook as if someone was going to peek on it, and wrote something down.
And when the bell rang for second period, everybody was jumping to their feet and rushed to the door.
I was still staring at Amanda not noticing the bell.
Amanda got up and gently placed her notebook inside her messenger bag as if it was very delicate.
The same thing happened in Biology,
when the bell rang she stood up, as what she did in History, placed the very same notebook she used in History inside her bag which I could tell you she did not do a very good job keeping it this time, because when her bag hit one table, the notebook came flying to the ground, but she didn’t notice.
So I got up to my feet and came to get the notebook on the floor.
As I was reaching for it, Amanda ran inside and then, she was in front of me.
“Oh, thank you so much! I thought I lost it!”
She says as I got up and gave her the notebook.
“No biggie!” I say, flipping my hair.
“Nice shoes by the way” Amanda says.
SHOES? why the heck are we talking about my HIGH HEEL shoes? Well, I think it’s pretty cute too.
* And now that she’s missing, I can’t keep wondering if she brought it with her or left it behind somewhere. I wonder what she’s writing on that notebook, and that did anyone know about it besides me.
Response number 1
This does sound like Amanda because as everyone knows she has tons of journals!
She showed me one once. It was her totem journal. She drew pictures of differnt animal totmes she showed me mine ( wich yes, is the tiger). I rember her saying ” The tiger fierce and a leader.”
She wrote quotes in it too wich i didn’t really understand. Whenever i would ask her what it means she would look at me like i was crazy but then slowy smile and keep flipping through the book like i never said anything.
