Debate Club § The Amanda Project

Greetings, all!

I’ve been a member here a few weeks, and I thought I’d get around to introducing myself.

I go by Sarah, and some of you might know me around Endeavor High by that name. I’m a social neutral, on the brink of becoming a loser, if I’m not careful. I really don’t care about being careful, though. I am who I am, and if certain people don’t like it, I’m okay with that. I know I don’t appeal to everybody, but I’m not going to hold it against them.

My dad is the pastor of the Baptist church in town. That’s how I know Nia. She and I are in the same Sunday School and sometimes Youth Group. I have two older brothers, Daniel and Samuel, but you of course know they go by Dan and Sam. Dan is one of the football players, and Sam favors lacrosse. I’m not into any sports, really, but I do participate in most of the community theatre. I’ve been doing shows there for years, at the little black box theatre in town. Come around and see the next show! Maybe you’ll catch a glimpse. I’m also a cellist and flutist, and I alternate playing both instruments in the school band. I’m in art club and debate club, too.

I know Amanda from school, mostly, but she did come by church once or twice. The occasions were few and far between. I’m not sure why she came. Maybe Nia brought her, but I never got around to asking. I talked with Amanda at school and I knew I liked her. She and I had a lot of artistic similarities, but different ways of execution (for example, I would never draw on a car, even in chalk). I feel like she’s a lonely soul, though, and I find myself wishing now that I’d reached out to her a little more. It’s one of my biggest regrets at this point. I really hope we find her so I can get a second chance to befriend her. That’s about all I have to write, and I look forward to helping all I can in the effort.
