I will repost a story I posted in another thread. I cannot truly answer your question though, because though my friend is similar in so many ways to Amanda Valentino, they could be different people, though all of my facts lead to NO…
Anyways, before I post the story I would like to say that yes, I was in contact with “Amanda” in the recent months, though not in the verbal or physical notion. Letters have been sent and responded to, but I cannot ward much information besides what’s in the following story….

First off, I would like to say that as many have known this “Amanda” as another name, I have known her as many names. Some people who didn’t know her well would call her schizophrenic, but I knew better. She was my idol, my first friend. We first met when we were little tots in day care, three or four, perhaps? At least, that is as far back as I remember knowing her. We would dress up constantly, and have play dates frequently. Yes, I went to her house, met her parents, which I only remember faintly, mostly, I recall that they were wonderful. She ADORED her parents, but was rebellious at times as all children are. “Amanda” was always changing her name, one day Tammry, the next day Lizzie. We all just called her what she wanted to be called that day, her formal name was irrelevant to her personality. Then came a day when there was some sort of accident including her parents. She was 8 years old at the time, and I was 7. I never was informed of the details, just that my best friend was leaving to go live with some distant relative far far away. I weeped. “Amanda” came to see me whenever she could (every once in a while it would be from some new place), and wrote frequently. Her letters began to get less and less frequent two years ago. I asked her about it, and she said that she had a plan cooking, and I was curious. I wondered if I could help. Amanda confided in me. I can’t give specifics, but it seemed from her plans that she had run away from the relatives she was staying with, because her plans were too elaborate to hide from anyone she might have been living with. She still visited, and we talked hushed in my room. I have no idea how she came up with the money to visit me, as sometimes she wrote me from across the country, other times in the next state over, but “Amanda” always had her ways to get the things she wanted. What concerned me was her living on her own, and that she had not been reported as a missing person by her relatives. unless, of course, they knew she was not missing. Just abroad. Who would let an adolescent girl live by herself, I wondered. Perhaps, I thought, she wasn’t living alone. Maybe she stayed at peoples houses, like she did sometimes at my house. That wasn’t a far-fetched theory. “Amanda” still sends me letters, and in the place the return address should be, she writes, “To: My Accomplice, From: Her Partner in Crime”. It’s an inside, one of the many nicknames we gave each other.
How do I know this is the “Amanda Valentino” you speak of? Well, I don’t know for sure, but after reading “Invisible I” it gave me the feeling, like I WAS “Amanda”, the same feeling I always got from this girl. Not to mention we always delighted in reading, quotes, math, and the biggest one, self being, Oh, and for anyone who has been wondering, the animal totem thing, it’s Amanda’s way of telling you how powerful you are.
“Amanda’s” disappearance is no mistake, no kidnapping. This is unconventional, by any means.

Recent evidence also leaves me to believe that some other people not included in the few puzzle pieces we know about are helping AND hurting “Amanda”. Callies mother is another mystery that COULD connect to “Amanda”, or possibly is just a side story, but the latter is a much more boring notion, don’tcha think?
Hope this helps!
