Hi this is Gracie Hayes and Stefanie Stone. We wanted to let you all know about some of the concerns we probably share about the Amanda Project. We know this is kind of long, but stick with us. It could really help the project.

It seems that no matter how hard we try, and all the great ideas we have, we never get closer to achieving our goal: finding Amanda. She was a really good friend to almost all of us and I am personally disappointed by how little control we have in her search.

Almost every time someone has an idea about where Amanda is or what we should do next, the moderators always say they investigated it and it leads to nothing.

We are sick of this. We think it is time to take the search into our own hands, and that means sometimes we need to ignore what they say.

We know they mean the best but we know what is best to find Amanda.

We also are slightly disappointed in everyone in the project who always post “great idea, we should investigate” after a good idea someone suggests after a story, but nothing ever happens. Reading 20 of these comments are irksome and they don’t get anything done.

We aren’t trying to cause trouble, we simply think its time to take the search into our own hands and find Amanda.

Honestly? I can’t believe the way that poll looks. It’s really amazing. I haven’t even been here very long, and I can already see that Hal, Callie, and Nia don’t follow many (if any) user-submitted leads. Or, if they do, it’s from a handful of users.

Everything can’t lead to nothing; it isn’t logical. So what are we going to do? I’m behind you 100%.

That’s because it isn’t really being written by us. The people who came up with this whole thing KNOW where they are taking it. And if we stumble upon something that fits into their plot, they post it/respond to it/put it in the book. Otherwise, we’re here writing our OWN stories about Amanda, making our OWN plotlines. And we can do that. They don’t care, this is how they get ideas and make it popular.

We can take it into our own hands, I suppose, but what will it do? Make us happy because we fought against the man? Sure. That’s what I’m doing. I’m creating my OWN Amanda, my OWN thoughts about who she is and why she’s here. I know a different Amanda than the mods, a different Amanda than you or anybody else. And I can post whatever I want about her.

If you want to find her, find her. If you want to follow the ‘guides’, follow the guides. Personally, I want to find Amanda. I’m incorporating the clues that fit into MY plan, but if they don’t I don’t pay attention to them. You can turn this into your own story if you want to, no matter what the mods say. It IS in our hands. What gets published, no, what the mods say, no, but how we find Amanda and where she is all up to us, yes. I’m willing to give my opinion and advice on the search to anyone, and I’m sure that at some point, we’ll find her.

    But then what?

I agree with Gracie, but I also agree with Cecile.
We’re here writing our own stories about Amanda, making up our own plot lines, but where does that get us?

It gets us a good story. That’s what. The original idea for this whole thing was awesome, but we won’t find Amanda until they let us, which is bogus. We can find her on our own terms, if we like, but in the end the world of readers will only hear the official ending. What we choose to believe about Amanda is up to us, not them. I don’t quite think they comprehend what they’ve started here… They gave the teenage girl population a figure to look up to, someone that is the perfect role model for every individual girl, because she chooses who Amanda is. It could be her best friend, or someone who doesn’t know she exists. Either way, Amanda is whoever each girl aspires to be.

So, they’ve pretty much started something for their own benefit, but made something a lot bigger to the rest of us. And now that they aren’t following through as we’d like them to, they’ve got a rebelion on their hands, lol.
