“Alex you know where it is,” my mother grumbles, “you watch me pull it out every day, are you okay?” I rolled my eyes at this question,
“Of course I am, I just kinda forgot… what a silly question!”
“don’t smart-mouth me, hey I got to go honey, my boss needs me right now, by.” With a blink of an eye she hung up, the line is left humming with the abscence of a voice. i put the phone back in its place and begin to examine the room.
The place is dark, except for a dim lamp in the living room. I spin around slowly in the middle of my shabby kitchen- my mother denies that it is, but I can tell that she feels the same way- and i stop at the corner of the room. i swiftly walk over to the crowded, 70’s style wallpaper covered corner and look out at the rest of the room. There are dirty dishes piled high to the ceiling, drawers and cabentets overflowing with old cups and bowls.
I begin to rapidly move from drawer to drawer in search of the one thing i need right now. My long brown hair flowing behind me every step I go. And why it would be in here, I have no idea.[ Edited: 01 April 2011 10:25 AM by ivolley]
