Cornelia is the fourth guide (said by her on the french debate club).
So The Lizard, Th creepy guy, is a friend of Amanda, he helps her, or he protects her, I think he is her guardian.

    peacesaves:
corniela may be the 4th guide but i still believe that lizard totem belongs to the man. hal said Amanda mentioned going to a concert there once. Im getting the feeling that Amanda likes to remember things from everywhere she goes, like mental scrapbooking. there are so many places that Amanda may have gone to only once and they still mean so much….

She Says It On The French Debate Because They Want To Change The Story A Bit For Each Region, On The American/Canadian Site She Confirmed She Is Not The Fourth Guide. I Do Agree That He Is A Friend Of Amandas Though. What If Hes The Fed Ex Guy!!

When I went to Google, I searched for a lizard myth. (I didn’t really find one, though.) But I did find this henna page talking about the lizard as a symbol. I will copy and paste it here.

    The Lizard:
The behavioral pattern of the lizard has inspired various beliefs, myths and legends associated with the Sun. In Egypt, it is said that in spring the lizards will climb an eastward facing wall and look to the east. When the Sun rises, the lizard’s sight and the sight of some blinded person, will is returned. Lizards have been associated with extreme heat in the Near East and in Australia, the aboriginal believed that the sky would fall if you killed one.

In ancient Egypt and Greek symbolism the lizard represented divine wisdom and good fortune. This was especially true of the reverence for Serapes and Hermes. In Roman mythology, lizards supposedly sleep through the winter and so symbolize both death and resurrection. Early Christianity associated the lizard with the devil and with evil. While on the Pacific islands of Polynesia and Maoris lizards are revered as a “heaven god.”
