I think trumpetgirl is right. Dorothy had three companions, as Amanda has three guides.

BlueRoseGrey-- It's actually a postcard, but good guessing! : ]

[“I once helped Nanna Dot build a scarecrow” and “This scene reminds me of that song, ‘Hit the Road, Jack!’” One page even had a recipe for apple turnovers (huh?)!] Guys, I just discovered something that I think y'all need to hear. Okay, so obviously, "I once helped Nanna Dot build a scarecrow" is referring to the scarecrow in the Wizard of Oz. "This scene reminds me of 'Hit the Road, Jack!' " refers to the yellow brick road. But where do apple turnovers tie in? I googled "Were there apple turnovers in the Wizard of Oz?" and found something that said "Apples were hurled at Dorothy and the scarecrow." I have watched the movie countless times and already knew this, but didn't remember this fact or knew how apple turnovers tied in with the other two notes found in the book. This is pretty much the only thing that has to do apple turnovers that was in the movie. I might be wrong, but it's just to help understand the whole apple-turnover-thing.

RRRules-- now that you mention it, I do remember seeing that movie. Turniphead was a scarecrow. How does he tie into this clue, though?

trumpetgirl, you might be on to something. Has anyone read A Wrinkle in Time and knows what happens in it?

In Time... In Time... Hmm... Oh wait! I think I got it! In Time as in A Wrinkle IN TIME by Madeleine L’Engle! The postcard said “Meg knew she had to search. Think about ‘IT’(which we think might be "In Time").” Maybe she's saying "Think about the book"? I'm not sure exactly what it means and if it's any help at all, but it's something.

Have you guys ever thought that maybe IT isn't exactly something that's controlling Orion? Sometimes the hardest clues have the easiest solutions. My guess: IT stands for something like ASAP stands for As Soon As Possible.

Scarecrow is pretty self-explanatory and "Hit the Road, Jack!".... Well, THE YELLOW BRICK ROAD!! Now if we only knew what turnips meant...
