I could understand that she has alot of money, shopping at vintage/thrift stores can save you a ton. She might just be the kind of person that doesn't like to show off what she has, or how rich she is. For all we know a relative of hers recently passed and left her all the money. No matter how she got it, it was most likely a spur of the moment thing. Amanda already had the money and thought that giving it to cali would be a good use. Since she overheard cali's situation Amanda probably figured that cali wouldn't spend it on just anything and therefore knew the money was going for something useful. I honestly dont know wat difference it makes if it's her money and she chose to put it to a good cause. I believe amanda has a good heart and a good head on her shoulders, she does things for a reason.

Is the Raven Thornhill's totem? (amanda left a raven in his office one time) and in the promotion vid it mentioned *4* guides? WAT????

Hey Laurel, Why would amanda be so much like the lizard if her totem is the coyote? and by a fourth totem there is a secret video (im guessing you havent seen it yet) which mentions 4 guides, not just 3.i was just pondering who the 4th guide could be, but then again the video could just be trying to get the reader interested and be all like "you are the 4th guide" kind of thing. i really dont know ttyl, Heather

I have made it my goal to do well on my finals (2 weeks from now) and to make the varsity tennis team next season. wish me luck! and of course I cant wait fo the next amanda book and to see where new clues will take us. i wonder how Amanda spent her new years. possibly in times square? on TV i swear I saw a glimse of her but there was so much confetti i couldnt be sure.

that song is from sound of music the theme in that scene was to not worry about the bad things but rather focus on the good. the song was meant to get rid of any bad thoughts if this was sent by Amanda then i guess it confirms that she wants us to focus on the good i wonder if dogs and bees are evil totems...

Any ideas on trust? It's so hard to trust people for me because every time I tell someone it somehow gets around. I HATE it. i feel like i cant trust any of even my closest friends because like from the persons point of view who needs to let a secret out someone told them, they will most likely tell someone else. i really like this posting secrets thing but what if you need advice? then what?

If they were cousins wouldn't they look more alike? anyway maybe Thornhill is/was married to Amanda's mom? is her mom even still alive? And that means Callie's mom is good friends with thornhill so she knew that she could trust him. Amanda transfered to Endeavor because thornhill tracked her down. but the question is what did thornhill tell amanda? does she know he is her father? Either way she trusts him alot and probably knows why callie's mom dissapeared. Amanda is trying to help callie find her mother and protect her at the same time
