@nucamac- you do. Most publishers don't accept unsolicited manuscripts. No, I don't have an agent. That's the beauty of Inkpop. If your stuff makes it to the top five, then you're basically your own agent online. Also- you shouldn't be paying an agent. If they ask for money up front- run. The way an agent makes money is that they work with you to basically "Sell the rights" of your manuscript to a publisher for the most amount of money, because they get a cut. Somewhere from seven to ten percent of the total, I think. So, obviously, they want to sell it for as much money as possible, right? That's the logical thing to do. Which, in turn, gives YOU more money. So you shouldn't be paying an agent anything- it's their job to make the money. You just wrote the book. :) Message me if you've got any more questions, I've gone to lectures and taken classes on this stuff. It's fun being the only sixteen year old in a group of people in their fifties. :)
