Hey everybody – it’s Cornelia.

First up: the results. Nia, Hal, Callie and I took a look at the handwriting sample, too, but then none of us posted our findings—I guess we were all pondering their deeper meaning! So I took our results, compared them what you guys posted, and came up with a composite of the most “popular” answers. Looks like our mysterious pen-pal is creative, cunning, eccentric (uh-oh), determined, ambitious, cold (double uh-oh), logical, critical, and aggressive. Since we don’t have any other notes to compare this to, I’m not sure this helps us a ton at the moment. But we’ll keep it handy because you never know what it could do for us in the future. It would also be kind of smart to keep our eyes open for anyone who fits the bill, don’t you think?

Next up: a guest appearance by VMisMyHero. Read on, you’re going to want to see what she’s discovered.

I wanted to share something pretty rocking that I just found.

Curiosity got the best of me after reading some of the posts by Kewpie83Theresaax2, and elc2010 about the painting in the art room that looked like the secret door. I went a little Veronica Mars and decided to check it out. I was kind of nervous that the painting wasn’t going to be there since the room itself “disappeared,” but it was. Breathe a sigh of relief… now. I wanted to take a picture of it to show you but needed to move it to somewhere with a little better light. (I really wish someone would make a cell phone with a flash built into the camera.) Here’s where it gets good. When I took the painting off the wall and moved it, I noticed that the backing was a little torn. What would VM do? Lift the material and see if there’s anything inside, of course. So I did. And there was. Wrapped inside a small blue cloth was a key – a skeleton key. What the??? I was so excited that I just had to share!

What do we think the key unlocks? What do we do to find out?

    Ohhh =D.

Maybe it unlocks another secret door. =], We haveee to find out!  Or Maybe..It could be a key to something like a desk, box, or something old…or it could just be a door….

I think that the first thing we should do is bring it to someone who makes keys. We could get the key copied and they could tell us probably about when it was made and what they think it could open.

I knew that painting had to be connected!  Thanks for checking it out, V!

I don’t know if taking the key to just any old key maker is a good idea. We need to keep a low profile right now. What would our parents think if they knew we were out trying to solve a potential crime/kidnapping?

Does anyone know (and trust) a key expert?

          • stef_stone

Well my uncle works with keys! Should I bring it to him and see if he can figure it out?

            • urban_hippie

I am so confuuuuused. Maybe just maybe the key is for that one room. Maybe we should get the key dated first. See when it was made. Skeleton keys aren’t that common anymore. :\

Hope that this key is useful…It may not unlock the secret door but it is prob. vary useful…

                • kayleigh

It has to be a key to that door thats why it was hidden in a painting of a door and maybe Amanda hid it since she has hidden other things such as notes. Maybe she even wanted us to find it?

                  • CoraSheffield

A skeleton key? But it’s like a new school, isn’t it? So what would it be doing?
Maybe it came off a necklace. I’m sure I’ve seen one like it at For-never 21. It seems so tacky only a total misfit would wear it, honestly. And speaking of misfits…

Maybe there is a door that looks like the door in the painting!  Keep looking at the painting, V!  Maybe there is something we are looking past…something obvious?

A Skeleton key is said to unlock all doors. (cops used to have em I think) So, this might unlock all the rroms in the school. But look back at the first picture of the glass door [removed]. IT. HAS. PAINT. ON. IT. ART CLASSES HAVE PAINT!!!!!

It might quiye possibly be the key to the secret room, but then again, it might be a key to someplace else that would be important to the mystery.

skeleton keys are so rare now, that the only room i could think of that the key would go to would be the old storage shed out back or the secret door. u know how we were talking about the ring on the necklace that amanda wore, well, i’ve seen her wearing all kinds of stuff on necklaces. including a skeleton ring! is it hers? does anyone know? since amanda has an obsession with vintage, it makes sense
                            xoxo, tiff

remember amanda was obsessed with keys… this was recent but… try the raven observitory… since its so old… maybe amanda wants you to find something there???

                              • DarcyRaeLoket

amanda loved keys and tiffany923 says she saw Amanda wearing a skeleton ring so its probably from Amanda. so urrh does a skeleton key open any door or whaat? :)

                                • Maddie

maybe… if it’s a skeleton key then maybe it opens more than one door… so it could open a door in the raven observitory and another door somewhere else…. either way i think we should check out the observitory…

                                  • DarcyRaeLoket

yeeaah :) we should. maybe there will be a clue there to where to look next. like a treasure hunt, that would be so Amanda. :)

IT SO HAS TO UNLOCK SOMETHING AWESOME!!! what if it’s the master key to the school, and unlocks anything?

                                      • StellaGwiasda

You said the person’s handwriting said they were creative, cunning, eccentric, determined, ambitious, cold, logical, critical, and aggressive. That fits the bill of a good spy, doesn’t it? A good spy must be creative, cunning, and logical when in a pinch. A good spy must be eccentric occasionaly and try crazy plans.  A good spy must be determined and ambitious to help people-or their boss. They must be critical so they don’t miss any important details. And a spy must be cold when there is no way they’ll be able to help ten people unless they leave one behind. Jsut saying.
And didn’t Amanda say she lived in that one old house with the elderly people? It would be old, right? The skeleton key might go there. Maybe she was pointing you guys there when she told you she lived there.

Im thinking back to the secret room. I think even though the door has been painted, and the doorknob removed, the keyhole could still be there. Thats what i think the key unlocks
