Before I met Amanda, I used to feel alone a lot. Thanks to her, I don't really anymore. Now I worry that—among lots of other things—she’s the one who's lonely. But, trumpetgirl, you’re right—being alone and being lonely aren’t the same. And I think your mom’s right, too, Linda_Calista. No matter how alone you sometimes feel, there’s always someone going through what you’re going through. And like Alyxtiaz, I think that wherever Amanda is, she’d approve of us helping out at the center. She wouldn’t want those kids to be alone or lonely.

We had a party at the Big Brothers and Big Sisters Center now that it's reopened. They called it an “unbirthday” party, where they celebrate all the kids’ birthdays at one time, which was pretty cool. All the mentors were there with their kids, and a bunch of us volunteers showed up, too. Nia had a family thing, so she couldn’t make it, but Callie and I went. I have to admit, it was a pleasure going to the center without having to pick up a rake or push around a wheelbarrow.

When we got there, most of the mentors were on the playground with their kids. Callie seemed to recognize some of the kids, but we didn't really know anyone well so we wound up setting up the birthday cake and paper plates and stuff in the rec room. While I was unfolding a stack of folding chairs and card tables, two mentors came in, a girl and a guy. The guy looked kinda familiar, but I couldn’t place him.

The girl started arranging the chairs. “So, Noah, you never told me how the Lady Gaga concert was. Did you guys really go backstage?”

At the mention of Lady Gaga, my ears perked up and I froze. I shot a look over at Callie, and I could tell she was eavesdropping, too. “Yep, we went,” Noah said. “Nikki and Ricky had an awesome time. I’m not really into Lady Gaga or anything, but even I thought the concert was pretty amazing.”

Callie was not going to let this go. "OMG, Lady Gaga,” she said, tossing her reddish curls with her voice all maximum I-Girl excitement. You have to hand it to Callie—she can be a pretty decent actress when she needs to be. “I tried to get backstage passes for that but it was totally impossible. How did you snag those?”

“Well, actually. I’m not really sure,” he said, shrugging. He looked kind of baffled that she would be talking to him at all.  I know how he feels. “You know those cubbies in the office where they put our schedules and notices and stuff? Well, I checked mine one day and there were three backstage passes inside with a note that said they were a gift for the twins. The twins are my kids—Nikki and Ricky.”

Callie’s cheeks turned bright pink. “Was the note on purple paper?” she practically squeaked.

Noah shrugged, giving Callie a weird look. “Mighta been, I don’t really remember.”

When Noah turned back to the girl he came in with, Callie dropped her handful of paper plates and grabbed me by the arm, pulling me toward the office. “If Amanda left those tickets in the cubbies,” she whispered excitedly, “there might be more clues back there!”

We practically ran for the office. It was empty, since everybody was helping out with the party. We found the cubbies easily enough, but they were totally empty. No sign of purple paper anywhere. We stood staring for a minute, then Callie reached out to touch one of the names under a cubby. It read, “Farn, Noah.”

Callie turned to me, her eyes wide. “Noah Farn? As in--Kyle’s brother?”

Before I could answer, we were interrupted by a loud cheery voice behind us. “Oh, of course, hun, Kyle and Noah are brothers.” We spun around to see Barbara standing there, carrying two plates of cake that she pushed into our hands. “That red hair is a dead giveaway!”

So that was why Noah had looked familiar.

“I’m surprised you two didn’t know that,” she continued. “Kyle’s kind of a celebrity around here. After all, he is…” Her voice trailed off and she shook her head, smiling. “Well, never mind that. You two enjoy that cake!”

As Barbara went back to the party, Callie and I stood for a second, dumbfounded. “Kyle’s brother randomly pops up with three backstage passes to this concert after Heidi has three passes stolen,” Callie said slowly. “Do you think that’s a coincidence?”

THREE Lady Gaga tickets? A Kyle Farn connection? What is going on?

Wow, I guess Amanda really did steal the tickets…maybe. I can’t remember who Kyle is though, can anyone refresh my memory? But either way, however Amanda got the tickets, at least we know why and one of the reasons she was at the big brothers and big sisters place.

    • AllieK

So Kyle prolly took the tickets from Heidi so his borthers Little Siblings could go.  I can’t remember who Kyle Farn was though.

      • ICUPEEKING

...Don’t exactly remember Kyle Farn either, but it seems so unlike Amanda to actually steal those tickets. I think I am leaning towards AllieK’s theory. Kyle would have motive to actually steal the tickets from Heidi. But on the other hand, if Amanda was desperate, I don’t think stealing would stop her from getting what she would need. You should probably question Kyle more on how he got the tickets.

        • marycaulf

          Yes!!!

          • EllaMarie

It could have been anyone that stole those tickets. Like maybe Bea Rossiter or…IT! That Ian Tetegni or whatever his name is. And I don’t really remember who Noah or Kyle Farn is.

            • izzap2

good idea! This might just be me being stupid, but why would Bea want the tickets if she did steal them. I think it’s more likely to be IT.

(I don’t remember Noah or Kyle either!)

              • fashionista17

I’m pretty sure that it was AV or IT. AV probably told IT to get them for her, since he likes her or something like that. She could basically control him(Maybe IT knows where AV is!). I also did that to some guy who liked me. I don’t remember a Noah or Kyle Farn….. Does ANYONE remember?

Alyxtiaz, I’m not sure Bea would have done it. Wasn’t she quiet and nice(I’m guessing)? I agree, ICUPEEKING. They should question NOAH about where he got the tickets from. I also agree with trumpetgirl. AllieK, does Kyle even know Heidi? I’m sure that he didn’t take them from her, or Heidi would have told her dad and Kyle would have gotten arrested(Remember, Heidi’s dad is a police officer).

If I find anymore information, I’ll post later.

Isn’t Kyle the one that found AV’s notebook, and then got blackmailed by Heidi to be the “Spirit” that made all of those embarrassing announcements? Also wasn’t he the one hanging up the fliers about the Big/Litle Sibling program to begin with?
I’m wondering about what Barbara was about to say….Kyle is what?

                  • EllaMarie

Maybe Barbara was about to say Kyle Farn is the one that’s filming that commercial she mentioned. Just a thought.

emilys861; Well, if Bea Rossiter isn’t the one who stole the tickets maybe some other random person stole them. Someone who was around Heidi, maybe?

                    • BlueRoseGrey

maybe Barbara was about to say that Kyle was directing the commercial… or maybe he is a connection to IT? does he have a nickname that has the initials IT? hmm… did ya’ll ever ask Barbara about the carved initials on the tree? i think you should look into that maybe. If Kyle is IT and AV had something to do with the 3 tickets and Kyle was blamed for stealing them… then AV already as a connection with Kyle. If Kyle was IT and AV already had a somewhat connection with him with the whole stolen tickets deal… then maybe they carved their initials into the tree? IT for Kyle’s nickname or whatever and AV for Amanda. hmm i hope that wasn’t too confusing. sorry if it was!

                      • BlueRoseGrey

unbirthday… In Alice in Wonderland, there was a scene when she met the Mad Hatter and the Hare for the tea party. they celebrated all of their birthdays together, calling it an Unbirthday. Amanda left us a clue a while back having to do with a poem that Lewis Carroll had written. “A Valentine.” very interesting… :D Just a thought… but have you looked into any other things of Lewis Carroll’s? Just listing off the ones i know: Jabberwocky (MY MOST FAVORITE POEM IN THE WHOLE WORLD), Alice in Wonderland, Through the Looking Glass and What Alice Found There… those are all i know of off the top of my head. Lewis Carroll was an amazing writer who made up his own words that eventually made it into the English language (mimsy, chortle, burbled)! I definately think that Amanda would look up to him. I think it would be worth the time to look into some of his writings! I probably should have mentioned this a while ago but it didn’t spring up into my thoughts until these clues came about!

                        • stef_stone

First of all, I just wanted to say it was interesting how many connections there are to Lewis Carroll. :)
Second, I think Kyle probably took the tickets. Then again, the woman said that-“Kyle’s kind of a celebrity around here. After all, he is…” This probably means he has enough influence to get his own tickets. I could see him being like a famous inventor or something for some tech product? We should ask him about it.

                          • LINDARTIST

On a different note, maybe the fourth Guide could be Bea. Bea, Beatrice, Bellatrix…

                            • Linda_Calista

Stef_stone, i think you are correct.

Seems like kyle would have taken the tickets.

                              • Pipper

I agree with STef_stone, but I’m curous on how Barbara said “After all, Kyle is… never mind that”. What is so important about Kyle at this place?

                                • trumpetgirl

Maybe she was going to say something like “After all, Kyle is somebody’s big brother (who might be a ‘popular’ kid at the BB&BS; place. Or maybe she was going to say something about Kyle being Noah’s brother, although I don’t know what relevance that would have, except for the fact Noah went to the Lady Gaga concert. And RRRules, Kyle was the kid putting up fliers at the school, thanks for the memory refresher!

                                  • izzap2

I agree with the fact that Kyle might be the peson who’s doing the commercial.
I think you shoul go see it, because IT might be there?

PS: is this even relevant or has it already been discussed?

                                    • AllieK

emilys861, since Kyle was blackmailed by Heidi to be the Spirit, he’s prolly not a huge fan of her and took the tickets to get back at her maybe?  I also think its interesting how there are so many connections to Lewis Carrol. I agree with BlueRoseGrey, we should look into his works

                                      • helllomaddy

Something tells me that Kyle Farn isn’t who he says he is. My guess is that Amanda really did steal the tickets, and somehow Kyle is involved. Maybe it was a random act of kindness that she would steal them and give them to Noah. We don’t know, neccessarily, if Kyle and Noah happen to get along. There’s got to be more of a story there.

                                        • XxKatiechanxX

I think Amanda really did steal the tickets and somewhere somehow Kyle is involded. I mean why else would she stel them, only to give them to Noah.

                                          • fashionista17

Oh! I remember Kyle now! Thanks RRRules!

Anyways, AllieK, you may have a point. He probably took them to get revenge. And maybe he did film the commercial. I also agree with stef_stone. I also think that we should search the life of Lewis Caroll. Wait, did the commercial get filmed already? I’m getting confused.

I still wonder what Barbara was going to say. Maybe it was something good/bad about him? Or maybe a rumor?

If Noah didn’t like Lady GaGa, then why did he go???????

If I find anymore information, I’ll post later.

perhaps he went becaus he was MEETING someone there!! Could be IT or AV?

                                              • EllaMarie

Noah probably only went because of the twins. Nicky and Ricky. And I have no idea what Barbara was going to say. She could have been about to say that Kyle is going to be the directer or the one filming or something.

                                                • fashionista17

izzap2, I bet it was IT. AV would only leave a clue. And I also agree with Alytiaz, since he said that he only went because of the twins.

If I find anymore information, I’ll post later.

i think it might have been kyle and gave the tickets to Noah. but if it wasn’t kyle why would Amanda give the tickets to Noah? and what was Barbra going to say that she didn’t want yall to know?

                                                    • EllaMarie

Maybe Amanda didn’t give the tickets to Noah. It could’ve been Kyle and who stole the tickets from Heidi’s bag.

                                                      • AlexInvisible

Perhaps Kyle had reason to hate Heidi and stole the them… but somehow I don’t think so. If you’re doing something to someone because you hate them, then you actually SHOW THEM what you did. You don’t just hand off the loot/football/spoils to someone who has little to no connection with the subject (aka, Heidi). That would completely defeat the purpose.
And, if you were stealing them because you wanted them, why give them to someone else? There, you have another defeating of the Purpose.
Maybe Amanda stole the passes (wouldn’t put it past her) and then handed them off to Kyle’s brother, framing Kyle? But what kind of grudge would she have against him?
                                                        Ugh. My head is hurting.

i think kyle stole the tickets from Heidi. Maybe he stole then because he needed to go to that concert for some reason? did Amanda tell him to steal the tickets, maybe she left a note to tell him what to do and how to do it. was there something he had to do at the concert? collect something? leave something behind? tell someone something?
