A boy’s sport jacket
faded when he’s old
a red cloth, but a memory
school spirit drained from the stitches and seams
the lettering stretched out, bleached out
the color washed away
her perfume doesn’t linger 
a scrap of his best years
a life long forgotten
the material was never as bright
as when he was young
