On the cold and lonely lake floor
Lie softly burning stars
They constellate and make a door
Through which fly comet cars
Whirling round the cosmos
And heading for the light
Light at the ends of tunnels
People travel in the night
My car is here, it’s time to go
I’d take you with me
That you know
But comets won’t take what’s not mine
You have to know it’s not your time
When streaks of light pass through the stars
Just know that it’s the comet cars
So close your eyes, wish for the day
Our cars meet in the Milky Way
I want you to dance, want you to run
Beneath the golden molten sun
While at night the constellations
Will tell you of what I’ve done
So when your car comes
Drive to me
We’ll head off, travel sea to sea
Of shining stars and galaxies
The two of us, just you and me
