The night was growing dark and the coolness had set in hours ago. There were no leaves on the trees as it was mid December. I was sitting in the cozy, comfortable environment of Just Desserts, a nice coffee shop that seemed highly popular with the college students in Orion, a suburb in Baltimore, Maryland.
I was sitting in an odd shaped seat, it was low to the grown and curved up the back and was round at the bottom, in some ways it portrayed a bean, but blue. I was sipping a cappuccino and suddenly there was Amanda.
Her hair flowed a beautiful brown and her skin glowed brighter than any girl I’ve ever seen in December. Her eyes, from where I was, seemed to be perfectly shaped and outlined in black. This was only the second time I had seen her here, but this time she was alone.
As she walked by me she didn’t seem to have knowledge that anyone was in the room. As she passed me she looked back, as if she knew that I was talking about her in my head. I shook my head as if to retrieve my mind and snap myself back to reality. I began sipping my cappuccino once again when suddenly she was right at my side.
“Hey!” She said with perkiness in her voice. “I’m Amanda Valentino.” She stuck her hand out confidently to greet me with a shake, I returned the favor by meeting her hand with mine “Hello, I’m Sarah.”
Needless to say, the moment I met her, I didn’t know it, but my whole life had already been thrown off course and everyday since things went awry and Amanda went “missing” I have wondered.. Does Amanda Exist?
